For Parents
Thank you for your interest in the Wisconsin GEMS (Girls Engineering Math Science)! Our mission is to support math and science exploration for middle school girls. For more information on STEM programming see the 'What is GEMS?' section on our home page.
What's special about GEMS is that we acknowledge not only the intellect but also the social aspect of girls. At a GEMS conference the girls will get a whole lot of education, but also a whole lot of fun. We also realize that the parenting of middle school girls can be a daunting task, so on the day of the conference we address your educational needs as well. Examples of parent workshops offered include: Have a Clue-Mood Changes & Other Baffling Mysteries of Middle School Girls; Really! It's Time to Start Thinking about College!, and What You Don't Know Can Hurt Her, among others.
